Alex, should I read all of “Death and Taxes” before reading “A Clean Death?” I read a few chapters from Death and Taxes before, but then I missed a few emails between the ones I read and got lost.

Technically, you don't have to, as each story is more or less stand alone, but I think you get more out of it if you have read it, yes. Especially since A Clean Death features characters introduced in Death and Taxes. If you head to my fiction section and from there to Death and Taxes, there's a content/chapter list, with links, if that helps?
