I am home in the little village at the foot of the mountain, having travelled more than ten thousand kilometers (6214 miles) from a much larger city at the foot of another mountain—a city which is also home.
Huge thanks again for cross posting my summer walk Alex…
Your holiday sounds and looks fabulous, I can imagine seeing everything you knew so well through the curious eyes of your daughter… what a wonderful treat for you all!
I hope Scotland (I’m equally envious of this trip too…) will be as exciting! Enjoy….
Thank you! It was an absolute pleasure, sharing your walk. I know you worried about it, but honestly I loved every word and image and thought.
Ailsa keeps talking of things she saw in Thailand, which is great. I suspect she’ll have a great time in Scotland, too, although maybe not as hot!! Very much looking forward to the train, I’ve never travelled so far or long by train!
Thank you! I have no idea where the time went, it flew by, but it was great to revisit old haunts and see new things, too. Even better was relearning through Ailsa’s eyes, seeing all the things and details she noticed, that was a real treat. Next: Scotland via a long train ride from Grenoble!
You got a double whammy there man, the eye-opening attention that travel encourages AND seeing the world through your kid's eyes! You'll need a holiday I reckon ;)
(Next holiday comes with staying with my sister and her family, including Ailsa’s two young cousins, so I suspect that will probably not be that relaxing!!)

What a journey! I love seeing these places through your photography and words.
Thank you Rebecca! I’m really happy to have you along on the journey. Next up, the long train north to Inverness!
Excellent, sounds great. Glad you’re back and had such a fine time. Beautiful photos too

You’re not wrong! We’re all exhausted!
